I am an artist based in Milwaukee, WI. Art has been a part of my life since grade school when I first discovered comic books. I started drawing comic book characters and trying to replicate covers or exciting panels from comics. From there my exposure to art grew. In high school I learned painting. I was honored enough to win Gold and Silver Keys in the Scholastic Art competition and had 2 of my paintings displayed in the Milwaukee Art Museum and then go on to New York to be judged. My interest in the Renaissance artists grew and I learned more about them and their processes.

In college my love of art grew more and to a wider variety. I discovered artists such as Albrecht Durer and Gustav Dore. I was drawn to their style and use of etching, engraving and using primarily black and white. It fit my style and I began working and perfecting drawing using just lines in black and white. That continued after college and still work on perfecting it. I have come a long way but have much to learn.
I have also started experimenting with white ink on black paper and including a little color in my work. I always want to push myself and grow as an artist. Experimenting doesn’t always come out the best but in the process you learn new techniques and what works and what doesn’t.
Music also plays a large part in my life and art. While doing art I am always listening to music. It calms me, inspires me, makes me sad, happy, and all the emotions in between. Art and music go hand in hand with me. I have done a number of pieces based on lyrics or artist.
Growth is an essential part of life, not just as an artist, but as a person. Through my art I have learned much about myself. I have seen my strengths and weaknesses and faults. I try to build on my strengths and improve my weaknesses and faults. I also try to express my feelings in some of my art. It is sometimes hard for me to open up and art is a small way to help me open up. I also want to convey my love of the world and the beauty around us, whether it is the moon, forests, animals, music or people, beauty can be found anywhere.
